On May 19 and 20, we took part in the DigitalGipfel Switzerland, organized by digitalswitzerland — an association we joined in 2024 to help advance digital Switzerland.
At the heart of this year’s discussions:
– The e-ID: Switzerland’s digital identity, in view of the federal vote this autumn
– Artificial Intelligence: its opportunities and real-world implications
Federal Councillor Beat Jans and the Director of the Federal Office of Justice outlined the main features and stakes of introducing the e-ID. This innovation could significantly transform access to online administrative services for both individuals and businesses.
However, this transition will only be successful if we move beyond fear and focus on understanding the technical solutions and security guarantees, rather than reacting to buzzwords or preconceived ideas.
This observation resonates with our experience with CODY, our medical coding automation solution.
Unique in Europe, CODY is already enabling several Swiss hospitals to modernize their billing processes by freeing up coders for higher-value tasks.
Yet, the term “cloud” still raises concerns among some decision-makers — even when they haven’t taken the time to understand the security protocols in place or the proven benefits elsewhere.
Moral of the story: whether it’s e-ID or AI solutions like CODY, the devil isn’t in the cloud — it’s in the details. Taking the time to understand is the first step to any successful transformation
